ZADR: A History
                        With special leads on the dA ZADR club

Invader Zim has been loved by fans for many years. As with any fiction show, there has been fan art and writings since the very beginning. There have been the typical parings: Gaz and Zim, Tak and Dib, and Zim and Tak. These are not the only parings from the cartoon however; more strange and questionable parings have surfaced. What has brought about these strange and unusual parings though, and was what the reasons for the starting of one particular fan base? There has been one paring that has grabbed the attention of many fans; the infamous Zim and Dib paring, also known as ZADR. Where did this paring come from though? It has been difficult to tell, but research shows a possible cause.

Researchers have dug deep to find the origin of the ZADR craze. A long journey took them to the Arctic Circle where they found a group of rabid penguins living in hand made igloos. As far as research can show, these rabid penguins have caused the outbreak of ZADR, as well as a few other questionable Invader Zim parings. How did they do it, one might ask. “Through the internet!” says one researcher, whom was attacked by tiny floating moose shortly after the interview. The penguins introduced the parings to the world via a wireless connection. Crude drawings were created and distributed on select websites. Many fans were taken aback and found the idea an abomination at first. The art continued to show up, however, and seemed to grow on many fans without them even realizing it. One fan confirms, “At first I thought the idea was all wrong, but then I found myself writing suggestive ZADR scenes.”

It was an outbreak, pulling in fans in buckets full. Law enforcement teams had no control as the fan base grew and spread like a disease. The rabid penguins did not stop at just this however. They took one further step in this devious act of theirs. With the help of powerful electromagnetic pulse rays, the penguins implanted thoughts and dreams within many new ZADR fans. The dream to create a club to help accumulate the ZADR art and writings around the world grew within many fans. The penguins’ meddling would lead a group of fans to create a ZADR club on deviantART.com. This in turn caused more art to come out and more fans to be sucked in.

Scientists are following the spread of ZADR, and they project that by 2010 millions of fans will gather together in an attempt to take over the world. Undercover investigators have told us that fans are using a secret messaging system to keep in contact and to direct ZADR fan movement. There is no conclusive evidence that any gathering is being planned however, so law enforcement has no choice but to sit back and wait. We can only hope that the ZADR club on deviantART is just that, a simple club.
